Remembering Private William Haycox and Driver William Lewis

Remembering Private William Haycox, 10090, Depot., Sherwood Foresters (Notts and Derby Regiment) who died on 26 November 1918. He had been a prisoner of war for four years and had returned to England on 2 October.

and remembering miner Driver William Lewis, 284166, “B” Bty. 5th Reserve Bde., Royal Field Artillery who died on 28 November 1918, aged 28, another casualty of the 1918 influenza pandemic. Read his story here

Both men are buried in Staveley cemetery.
